April 2008 - ICT in Schools Report for 2007 Now AvailableICT in Schools Report - 2007

The 2007 ICT in Schools Report - a project run by the 2020 Communications Trust - is now available for download and review. Hard Copies of the Report are also available upon request.

The report presents a glowing picture of ICT infrastructure in schools with one computer for every four primary school students and one computer per three students in secondary schools.  This is in striking contrast to the ratio of 1:18 in primary schools and 1:10 in secondary schools in 1995.  Furthermore, most of these computers are connected to the Internet.

For full findings of the report - please view either the full, or summary versions of the report, available below.

The Marovo Lagoon Learning Net will build on the existing VSAT Distance Learning Centre in the Southern end of the lagoon and is created by the local villagers in an effort to learn how to manage their natural resources better

2020’s role will be to partner with GKP and Rural Link to provide a broadband link from Bekebeka to the centre of the lagoon at Batuna and equip a Telecentre in the Regional Training Centre
