The response around the country to eDay 2008 was phenomenal, with more than 16,600 carloads of electronic waste (e-waste) dropped off at 33 venues. Thanks to the event, more than 87,000 computer items including monitors, CPUs and printers were diverted from being dumped in New Zealand's landfills.
The total volume of e-waste collected was 946 tonnes.
