The Impact ’08 Seminar series explores the Social, Cultural & Ethical Impact of ICT Innovation in a number of fields.

The lunch time seminars will run simultaneously through the Access Grid network at Auckland University, Waikato University, Victoria University of Wellington, and Canterbury University.

The seminars are organised and funded through a partnership of UNESCO New Zealand, the 2020 Communications Trust and InternetNZ.

The series provides and excellent way for ‘town and gown’ to meet and think and exchange ideas.  Those from the business, technology and government sectors can stretch their thinking beyond technology and profits to some of the more indirect impacts of their decisions.  The academic community can interact with more closely with those in ‘town’ to get a more pragmatic view on their ideas.
