Vision and Mission:

The 2020 Communications Trust is a registered Charitable Trust.

Its guiding objective is to raise the awareness and understanding of people in New Zealand of the effect on the local and global community of the convergence of publishing, broadcasting, communications, information collection & dissemination.
One of those functions is to bring to the community's attention, issues that may affect them as a result of the widespread use of those technologies. Some practical examples from the past 10 years include:

NetDay - Volunteers wiring up local schools for internet and computer connectivity

Living Heritage - Enabling schools to create wesbites about heritage resources

Computer Access NZ - Availability of affordable computers and managing disposal

Computers in Homes - Computers, internet connections, training and support

Pasifika-IT - Using ICT to promote development in Pacific Island countries
